Conference Overview

An exciting, engaging celebration of touring performing arts, Contact ONtour is a gathering of those working in the sector. This conference is an opportunity for networking, sharing information and seeing the work of artists wishing to tour. Contact ONtour (formerly Ontario Contact) is designed to develop the performing arts in each local host community as part of its larger conference mandate. This year, we are going virtual, and all of Ontario is our host!

We are busily making plans for a conference that will bring us all together for conversation, connection, and art, until we are once again able to gather in person. The conference will include showcases, pitches, networking opportunities, professional development workshops, and important industry conversations. All of this will be focused on the week of September 13th-18th, 2021, with some activities taking place throughout September.

This year, all showcases and pitches will be virtual and will require an application. You will be asked to indicate in your application if you are interested in a pitch if not selected for a showcase. At this time, we plan for showcases to be pre-recorded and for pitches to be livestreamed. However, we are very conscious of broadband and technological constraints and are happy to work with selected artists to ensure the best possible experience.

We encourage performing artists of all disciplines from Ontario and other Canadian provinces and territories, to apply. Given ongoing travel restrictions and limited showcase capacity, at this time we are accepting applications from Canadian artists only. Ontario Presents is committed to ensuring equity, inclusivity, and representation in our sector. We especially encourage applications from artists who identify as Indigenous, Black, or People of Colour, artists with disabilities, Deaf artists, as well as artists from the LGBTQ2S+ community, to apply, and will be placing emphasis on representation from these communities in our selection process.
